Otokini is one of my native names, given to me by my grandma. It means ‘Praise God’ and that really says everything.

This space was born out of a deep longing to pause, reflect, and honour all the ways I’m being shaped by life through faith, through work, through small joys, and through quiet growth. And, from a love of writing I have always had but have rather ignored in recent years.

For years, I felt the nudge to write. Since 2017, actually. But I never took the step. Fear of failure, not knowing where to start, feeling like I wasn’t ‘ready’ yet. Over the years though, life has thrown me into some pretty deep waters lol — confusion about my purpose, moments of overwhelming sadness, a heartbreak, and even wondering if I’d ever truly heal. I’ve found myself in places I never expected, doing work I didn’t plan for, carrying dreams that still feel unclear.

But through it all, one thing has remained: God’s hand.

Even when I can’t always see clearly, He is still writing my story

So, I’ve decided to honour that story, to stop waiting until things are perfect, and instead, to start writing from where I am.

Here you’ll find pieces of my life:

  • Reflections grounded in my Christian faith 🌿

  • Thoughts from my work with the elderly 🕊️

  • Travel stories, when I get to step outside my world ✈️

  • And occasionally, my love for crochet 🧶

This is not a space of perfection. It’s a space of becoming.

A space to remember that even when life feels ordinary or hard, there’s still reason to praise God.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” — Philippians 1:6

Thank you for being here. I hope you leave encouraged.

With grace,

Dokuboba.
